UGL30 and UGLX30 Tandem series

High-performance pit lathes for the reprofiling of wheels and brake discs. Both the single and double (tandem) versions deliver operational efficiency and consistent quality, making them ideally suited for maintenance of railway vehicles.

The pit configuration minimizes the need for additional lifting equipment and allows wheel reprofiling directly on the vehicles. That reduces downtime and eliminates costs associated with wheel disassembly and reassembly.

When machining bogies with mechanically coupled axles and external bearings, the wheels of the coupled axle set not being machined must be lifted. For this purpose, the lathe can be equipped with two pairs of jacks positioned according to the wheelbase between the two axles. These jacks securely hold the wheelsets in position throughout machining, improving efficiency and ensuring safety in railway maintenance.

The tandem version consists of a fixed machine and a mobile machine connected by two cast iron beds. The mobile machine can move along the bed guides, allowing the machine structure to adapt to different distances between the two axles to be machined, thereby increasing the range of wheelsets that can be processed with a single machine tool.
