Under floor axle lathes
Pit lathes are designed to reprofile the wheels of railway wheelsets without removing them from the vehicles. They currently represent the best solution for the maintenance needs of modern rolling stock. Thanks to their compact design, which allows installation in limited spaces, and their high automation and productivity, their use is steadily increasing in railway depots.
Main features of pit lathes
The pit lathe series is available in different versions:
- The single version allows reprofiling of the two wheels of a wheelset or machining the two wheels, followed by brake disc facing.
- The double version, known as the tandem, enables the simultaneous reprofiling of four wheels or machining of all four wheels, followed by brake disc facing.
