UGL15 and UGLX15 Tandem series
Designed for the tramway and metro sectors, these pit lathes ensure precise machining of wheels and brake discs while maintaining the safety and performance specifications required for rolling stock.

The pit configuration reduces the need for additional lifting equipment and enables wheel reprofiling directly on the vehicles, cutting downtime and eliminating the costs associated with wheel disassembly and reassembly.
When machining bogies with mechanically coupled axles and external bearings, the wheels of the coupled axle set not being machined must be lifted. For this purpose, the lathe can be equipped with two pairs of jacks positioned according to the wheelbase between the two axles. These jacks securely hold the wheelsets in position during machining, enhancing both efficiency and safety in railway maintenance.

The tandem version consists of a fixed machine and a mobile machine connected by two cast iron beds. The mobile machine can move along the bed guides, allowing the machine structure to adapt to different distances between the two axles to be machined, thereby increasing the range of wheelsets that can be processed with a single machine tool.
